We’ve experienced incredible demand for our pilot program for Virginia Housing Community Heroes Grant! As a result, the initial funding allocated to this program has been fully exhausted. However, Virginia Housing will continue to honor Community Heroes reservations under the current guidelines including the $10,000 grant for all reservations made prior to 6 pm on Friday, February 13th.
We recognize the impact this pilot program has had on helping many Virginians achieve quality, affordable housing. As a result, Virginia Housing has allocated additional funding to the Program and we will accept reservations under updated guidelines after 6 pm on Friday, February 13th and continuing until such additional funding is fully reserved.
The updated guidelines will be posted to virginiahousing.com this Friday and are linked below for review. These updates reflect changes to eligible professions, and a reduced $5,000 grant. Please note: this funding is limited. Once the funding for this program is fully used, the program will be suspended. We expect to share updates on future funding opportunities later this year, subject to availability.
