And so it begins...

We are announcing today the first of what we expect to be many lawsuits filed by us and other named victims in relation to the now-infamous incident in Loudoun County this March.

For those just catching up, here is a review of events:

On the evening March 7th, 2021, The Virginia Project Program on Un-American Activities debuted with its first online presentation, a joint effort with Parents Against Critical Theory, titled What is Critical Race Theory and its Impact on Loudoun County Schools.

Reacting to this event, unbeknownst to us at the time, was a Facebook group called "Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County", whose membership counted among its ranks almost all the members of the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) school board, the Commonwealth Attorney, a member of the Board of Supervisors, and more significant figures. This group put together an enemies list, and an "action plan" that asked for felony crimes to be committed against those targets.

We discovered this plot on the evening of March 12th, and immediately called it out as the criminal behavior that it was. We also wasted no time in petitioning the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office for protection of rights, initiating a major crimes investigation that remains active.

For the rest of the details, please see the March 16th Daily Wire story, Teachers Compile List Of Parents Who Question Racial Curriculum, Plot War On Them. You can view all our press related to the Loudoun scandal here.

Setting boundaries: unlawful aggression
will not be tolerated

In response to these events, the leader of the "anti-racist" group went on a broadcast and made false and defamatory claims concerning threats to herself and others, specifically naming the Virginia Project as "encouraging" these threats. These slanderous claims harmed our meticulously cultivated reputation as a peaceful organization that strictly adheres to all applicable law and regulation. In doing so, this individual made herself the easy choice as the first defendant in what will become a tidal wave of litigation.

Today, that litigation has begun, with a defamation suit now filed against that individual in Loudoun County Circuit Court. We chose the slower route of Circuit Court, rather than District Court, for the additional powers of subpoena and deposition available to us. We do not believe the defamatory tale was a one-person effort, and indeed the defendant indicates that others were conferred with. We will find out who, when, and how this tale was invented.
This is but the first of many lawsuits against many defendants in a very complex case. Each and every individual who played a significant role in organizing felony crimes against us will be discovered and sued, until every last one is accounted for.

We are setting a boundary that should have been set a long time ago: organized crime is not acceptable in Virginia's political system.

It's time to find out just what the taxpayer
is paying for

Naturally, the next step is already in progress. We submitted an initial Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) "probe" to Loudoun County, that revealed information about certain data sets that are available through the process, and also that the FOIA office would demand processing fees up front before executing the request.

We need access to a particular data set: the web traffic of the individuals involved in this "anti-racist" group who were also employees of Loudoun County (including LCPS).

This information is maintained for only a very limited period of time - these need to be submitted this week, in order to obtain the time frame necessary for our case. If we do not get them right away, they will be gone forever. We know from the initial probe request that 400 such records exist for LCPS Board Member Beth Barts, and it will cost us $72.16 each to obtain them. There are 600 members of the "anti-racist" group, though not all are employees of the county government. Those who are, we want their data.

To this end, we are asking for your help funding this initial round of FOIA requests, to get the data which will be gone if we do not claim it now. As a relatively new organization, one punching well above its weight class, we do not have the cash on hand to make this happen alone.

The potential upside of this information is incalculable - to legal and political ends alike. We can learn all sorts of interesting things about how these Critical Race Theory cults are operating in Virginia's school systems.

Please help us make this happen. This is an historic opportunity for Virginia's freedom and liberty.

Virginia is at a critical moment in its history, as Democrats at every level of government continue their overreach and Republicans become more organized.

Virginia Project is at the forefront of holding Democrats accountable, and putting an end to their destructive policies - like critical race theory - once and for all.

Please help us uncover what is going on in Loudoun, Fairfax, and all across the Commonwealth as we FOIA for the truth.

THANK YOU for being with us in this fight! We've got your back.
