  • This means you protect your patient from all harm and that includes your lack of knowledge outside your pathway.

  • In an assignment/reassignment outside of your scope of practice, request the assignment be changed to meet your competency and scope of practice.

  • If Virtua refuses to adjust the assignment you should be specific about what skills/new skills you need to learn/oriented outside of your competency.

  • Keep records if you were made to learn something new, such as treatments, medications, buddying with another colleague.

  • Make note of any potential dangers that occurred.

  • Make notes of the impact to the patient and safety resulting in potential impact against your license. (times/dates, save notes to email/phone) no patient identifiers!

  • Keep records of all hours worked, the impact of plan on your working condition, home life, childcare, elder care, other concerns.

  • You are entitled to your contractual breaks, benefits, and committed hours!

  • ALL CONTRACTUAL RIGHTS UNDER THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT APPLY!
