George Washington Carver Day

February 1 has been designated by the State of Iowa to be George Washington Carver Day.

University Museums has a collection online at eMuseums where you can learn about the art at Iowa State featuring Carver, who was Iowa State’s very first African American student, graduate, and faculty member. Carver was best-known for his work as an inventor and innovator for agricultural products particularly for peanuts, soybeans, and sweet potatoes.
