For our service, we will be using the Rabbinical Assembly’s free downloadable Sim Shalom service. To download, please

. Once you register and fill out the form for the Rabbinical Assembly, please pick the “Siddur Lev Shalem: Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat Evening Service” for use during our service.
We will be muting all those attending except the leaders of the minyan to make sure everyone hears our prayers.

Learn Hebrew and Israeli Music with
Hebrew Language Society

To make the best use of your time at home, the Hebrew Language Society is offering mini-sessions of virtual Hebrew and Israeli music classes via Zoom.
Hebrew classes meet on Mondays and Thursdays.
Beginner, intermediate and advanced levels are available. Class times are available on

ith 16 Medal of Honor recipients, the 1st Division ended World War II with a record unequaled by any other American division. Join U.S. Army Colonel (Ret.) Krewasky A. Salter, Executive Director of First Division Museum at Cantigny, as he chronicles the 1st Infantry Division’s legendary military involvement from the Battle of the Bulge to the occupation of Germany.
The talk will focus on the 1st Infantry Division’s participation in culminating battles of WWII, the Nuremberg trials, and liberating Nazi labor camps. He will also tell remarkable stories from the brave commanders, leaders, and soldiers who wear the shoulder patch bearing "The Big Red One."
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to access the program.

Lunch and Learn: Exploring Voice, Music, and Jewish Exegesis

Mishkan Chicago will explore how the exegetical concept of PaRDeS* can be useful for appreciating Jewish liturgical music. We’ll then embody sacred song with our entire body-mind-spirit. Led by Builder Matthew Ellenwood, this session will feature Matthew’s original music and personal explorations inspired by composer Michael Isaacson’s book Jewish Music as Midrash.
*Peshat —”Surface” or literal meaning.
Remez — “Hints” or allegoric meaning.
Derash — “Inquire” or comparative meaning.
Sod — “Secret” or mystical meaning.
