Help ACEnet Support the Local Small Business Economy

Giving Tuesday is an international day of giving which encourages people to do good and celebrates the incredible generosity of supporters like you! As you consider your local organizations next Tuesday, know that a donation to ACEnet is an investment in your local businesses & economy.

This Giving Tuesday sees more challenges to us all than in years past. It was just for such a time as this that ACEnet was launched 35 years ago. A time when local small businesses would be the backbone of our region and a strong, local food system would exist to help deal with shortages and issues of food safety. And so, we have, are, and will remain open, working to help small businesses find the resources to stay in operation and provide our community with essential products and services. We have been offering our technical support to help these businesses access the federal CARES Small Business Relief Grant programs and to understand all the various relief programs. Likewise, our Food Ventures Center has been a consistent, safe, place where local food producers are working their hardest for you and your neighbors to produce food.

Please consider making a tax deductible contribution in support of your community through Paypal, https://www.paypal.me/acenetathens, to support small businesses right here in our region. If you'd like to help, but not online, you can also mail a check to ACEnet at 94 Columbus Road, Athens, OH 45701.

ACEnet Virtual Holiday Open House

Usually in December, we open ACEnet's Food Ventures Center for a family-friendly event with local food, wine & non-alcoholic beverages, and local holiday shopping opportunities, while sharing more about what ACEnet does in our community. This holiday season is shaping a little differently, of course. With holiday shopping mostly pivoting to online sales or shopping outside at pop-up markets, we wanted to make it easier & safer to meet the ACEnet family of entrepreneurs and shop their businesses. For this reason, beginning December 1st, we will be hosting a month-long Virtual Holiday Open House!

Stay tuned for details, but until next week, here is a sneak peak at one of our small businesses!

A Farewell to Gourmet Your Way

For the past year Greg and Carla Travers have been running Gourmet Your Way, an ACEnet Food Ventures business that would operate a monthly Raid Our Freezer event.

Raid Our Freezer provided a menu of appetizers, soups, sides and entrees for online order, to be taken home and prepared. They would also donate 10% of all sales to a local nonprofit.

We would like to bid a sad, and very fond, farewell to Greg & Carla and Gourmet Your Way as they cease production. They have been model Food Ventures tenants and we will miss them in the kitchen.
Handmade Along the River/Pomeroy

Welcome Back, Chams!

ACenet is happy to welcome Chams Ekelman of Chams Lebanese Cuisine back to the Food Ventures Center. Chams Extra Virgin Olive Oil is sourced from her family olive orchard in Lebanon. They grow and press the olives in Lebanon to make the oil, and ship it here, through customs, to be bottled and labeled in the ACEnet Food Ventures Center.

ACEnet has helped Chams with nutritional panel creation, sourcing jars and lids, getting their label approved by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and with label printing options.
