Weekly Newsletter
June 27th, 2022
Hello !

Happy Monday! We're excited to share some new updates to the way viewing more Classes appear on the VSC. We've heard your feedback and are making a couple changes over the next few months.

Please note that the VSC Staff will be out of the office on Monday, July 4th in observance of independence day.

Every week this newsletter will share a highlight of the coming week's classes, updates from the VSC staff, and more. Plus, celebrate birthdays happening each week!

New on VSC: Programs and "Load More"
Starting this week, there will be two updates on the VSC:

  • Classes will now be named Programs. It's the same classes you know and love, but will give space to offer more content on the VSC that may not fit the typical "Class" structure (i.e.: a movie night or open discussion).
  • When viewing the Programs and Program Library, you are able to see more programs by clicking on "Load More" button and scrolling, instead of using the arrow buttons at the top. We've heard this is cumbersome to find programs with, so we improved the button placement. (see change below)

Musical Collaboration of Cover Standards w/Randi & Alan (Musicians on Call)
Wednesday 6/29 at 7pm

Alan and Randi perform covers of classic standards like Stand By Me, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, songs by the Beatles and other soft rock songs. Their “theme song” is Two Of Us by the Beatles, since they have been together so long and are still making beautiful music. Alan and Randi are a married couple who met in 1978 in high school in Philadelphia, PA. They’ve been making music together pretty much ever since. Alan started playing guitar when he was 12 years old, and Randi has been singing in choirs and performing in shows since middle school. Over the years, Alan has added to his instrumental knowledge by teaching himself base, ukulele, mandolin, and banjo.

Comments: We often share the positive comments (and only those!) with the Facilitators. Your honest feedback helps us with content for the program. “It made my day to see this”, “it made me smile”, etc. It’s great to tell the Facilitators in the class as well but in an email they can “keep” it. If something goes wrong in the class or could be improved, please let us know. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Ratings: Rating a class by clicking the stars is a great thank you to the volunteers who lead classes AND helps the VSC team with programming to provide classes you enjoy. Please click after every class – it’s takes seconds and brings joy that lasts longer!
