Weekly Newsletter
August 8th, 2022
Hello !

Interested in being part of creating community spaces on the VSC? We're looking for someone to facilitate watching and discussing movies in a class.

In case you or someone you know is in need of assistance with affording internet, please see the information below on the Affordable Connectivity Program.

Every week this newsletter will share a highlight of the coming week's classes, updates from the VSC staff, and more. Plus, celebrate birthdays happening each week!

Film Watch Facilitator: Is that you?
Are you a Film aficionado? Would you like to lead a class (or classes) on movies?

We're looking for a member from the VSC community to facilitate watch parties for movies. Some suggestions for these classes: you can view and prepare comments for the class about various aspects of the movie (i.e.: the writing, actors, meaning then and today, etc.). Have other ideas? We're all ears!

Movies ideally will be free to view as a group. For example, YouTube has free movies from various eras and genres and all VSC members have access using the “Internet” button. We can help show you how to access these movies.

Please contact Carmella cchessen@selfhelp.net or 718-559-4378 if you’re interested in learning more and discussing.
