We all know that our Saturday morning services conclude with the singing of
Adon Olam.
Its “that” prayer that can be sung to almost any tune imaginable. But how often do we focus on the words we sing so joyously, especially the end. The final line reads, “When I sleep, as when I wake, God is with me, I have no fear.” It is a beautiful line that reminds us as we leave the synagogue that even when we might not be physically together, that we are close to God and by extension one another. This may not erase all fear, but it certainly makes us feel better.
Have a great day,
