VIRTUAL YMCA OF MONTCLAIR
Dear Members,

During our closure, the YMCA of Montclair has suspended the weekly Monday Happenings at Geyer and Tuesday Park Street Community Connections enewsletters. This is not a business-as-usual moment.

Instead, we will be communicating with all our members as needed.

We are asking our members for their patience and understanding while we set up a remote work structure for our staff, and make decisions on how to best move forward during these unprecedented circumstances. We will update you on your questions regarding membership, our reopening, programming, and more as the answers become available.

Today, in response to your inquiries, we want to let you know about online exercise classes the Y has made available to our community and how our buildings are being cleaned. We also have a tip on how you can help a neighbor.
ONLINE EXERCISE CLASSES
We have 3 opportunities for free online exercise classes.

  • Y360: Your Virtual YMCA, a free YOUTUBE channel that includes YMCA videos on barre, active older adult exercises, boot camp, yoga and more.
  • Les Mills is sharing a free streaming platform for all Ys to support their members outside the four walls of the Y. The platform will remain available until facilities are able to serve members within their centers.
  • MOSSA MOVE a digital streaming service for people to experience MOSSA workouts. By using the unique URL below, you can sign up for a free 60 day trial. Normally MOSSA offers only a 14-day free trial. You will have to provide a credit card at sign-up. Please note that you must cancel before 05/14/2020 to avoid being charged.
SYSTEM USED TO CLEAN OUR BUILDINGS
Our Park Street YMCA and Geyer Family YMCA cleaning company uses the Clorox Total 360 System to clean and disinfect our buildings. We are following CDC guidelines regarding cleaning and disinfection. Click here to learn more about the system.

ADOPT A NEIGHBOR

People who are at high risk, older adults and people who have severe chronic medical conditions like heart, lung, or kidney disease, should stay home as much as possible.

We have neighbors who are elderly and don't have family around to help them. If you know someone like this, consider adopting them during this crisis. Shop for them either by going to the store, or online and have it sent directly to their home.

Most pharmacies have delivery. If they are not getting their medication delivered, help your neighbor sign up. This may be a good time to get the contact information of your neighbor's child or relative that lives out of state.
In our next update, we will address questions regarding membership, programs, and school-age childcare payments. We thank you for your support and understanding. Please take care of yourself and one another.

Our community is strong, and together, we can do this.
