Our sister in Christ, Jane Snyder has been blessed with the Lord's unique call on her life. May you and I seek the Lord for His call. This is Chapter 12 from her book: "God's Ways in Me"
Street Kid Heaven
I was sitting in a church at a repast for a prophet. I was thinking how happy he must be in heaven, when I suddenly asked God, “What do You have for street kids in heaven?” Street kids live each day to simply find food and to stay alive. If they reach adulthood, they are active in the underworld of crime. Suddenly I saw a banner rising in front of me with this scripture, “I go to prepare a place for them.” I found myself in a part of heaven that was something like a park or playground, intermingled with housing in pueblo style. For those of you who do not know of that style, it is an American Southwest Indian style described like this:
“Pueblo Indian communities in New Mexico and Arizona center around the Pueblo people’s traditional homes, or pueblos, which are stone and wood structures covered in a mud mixture called adobe. The buildings are constructed into multilevel terraced apartments and, in some cases, contain hundreds of rooms and stand five stories high all connected by ladders.”
Jesus was in the park. And the place was filled with former street kids just hanging out with Him in a delightful and casual way. They adored Him. He was their elder brother who was righteous and good and who loved them instead of hating them. The place was permeated with love for Him and for each other. When we have a pet, such as a dog or cat, we are proud when they perform tricks they have been taught, but that is not what we love about them. We love them when they are just who they are with their innate characteristics wanting to interact with us. That is how Jesus is about His family too.
From this vision I learned many new things about my Jesus and His values. His family is for Him to ENJOY! It is made up of all who choose to love Him and honor Him for who He is. His love is not performance based; it is joy based. His enjoyment manifests in more glory, by lighting up the heavens with love and laughter. It is called JOY unspeakable and full of glory!
The thousands of little rooms, carved into the hillsides, each had their own color and formation so to be identifiable by each person. They were able to decorate and make each room the way they had always dreamed. I believe that the reason Jesus prepared a place like this was because it was a housing copy of how street kids sleep on top of each other each night. That is how they get warmth and some level of security for a few hours. Jesus simply copied this pattern so that they would feel comfortable with others all around – over and under! Even in the housing area there were ladders and park-layers in the most beautiful designs.
Jesus greeted me warmly and gave me a park bench to sit on. He began to send kids to meet me, and they would each tell me of their desires that were never fulfilled on the earth. I noticed that when I agreed with their desires as appropriate with God’s Kingdom, then I had the ability to grant those desires simply by my agreement with them. This was a great honor for me, and a fulfillment of a dream of my own in my earthly street-kid ministry. I had such an unfulfilled hole in my heart, because I could never give the kids the simplest of things…a pair of shoes…a hot breakfast…a jacket or blanket. But here, I could give them their heart’s desire. Oh…the fulfillment was the best experience in my life.
Through this I was also shown that the power of agreement, given to Believers, is not only for earth, but is a foundation in heaven as well.
“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. Matt 18:19
One boy who came to see me, had slept in an African video hall on earth. Now these places were often large, sided tents, with the owner collecting money for showing videos each night. When the videos were over, the kids would take up their spots in the tent, getting to sleep out of the rain.
This particular boy had seen light shows in those video halls and wanted to make them in heaven. He never got to be a lighting designer on earth, so I was pleased to agree with his desire.
Angels appeared bringing baskets of very large cut gemstones of different colors. These were fruit sized, and there were very many for him to choose from. After seeing my satisfaction and amazement, the gems were carried to the boy’s personal room, where we together began to push them into the front and sides of the outside of his room. He could play with their positioning forever, as the glory would send out the most ever changing and stunning light from the faceted gems, in a gorgeous array of color.
Now the glory that I am talking about emanates from God’s being and has a brightness like golden shimmer. This glory had something of an increasing and decreasing cycle. I am not sure on what it was based, but it was maybe about a time cycle of a month on earth? I understand that there is not time in heaven, yet there was a slowly increasing and decreasing glory. This affected the light show that shot through the heavenly realm.
That is one example of a kid’s destiny, unfulfilled on the earth, yet completed in heaven, and complimenting the beauty realm of God for all to enjoy. I cannot describe the wonderful satisfaction I felt by finally getting to complete my earthly call in heaven.
You may remember that my instruction from God in 2005 while in Uganda for the first time, “Return to this place and give each kid 30 minutes of individual time.” When I returned to Africa in 2006 to complete this command, I found 250 child soldiers fresh from the war and collected from the streets. While I was there they swelled to 320 as they wanted me to take care of them all! I led them to Jesus, and listened to their horrific stories, as they were so glad to have someone to confide in. I could hardly make them whole in any way, let alone give them a single desire of their heart.
I thought it was amazing that God set up my job in heaven, in the same fashion as the one on earth; by meeting each kid individually. Yet this time it had the fulfillment, and the heavenly love, and the ways and means to make it all happen, which was something I never had on earth. Oh, the ways of God are beyond our wisdom, knowledge or understanding. May we forever praise and be grateful for His inclusion of us as His family. Amen
