Vision200:
What We Heard and Where We’re Going
Over the past several months, many of you participated in our Vision200 process by praying, listening, sharing your hopes, and speaking honestly about the future of Perry Methodist Church. Thank you. Your voices mattered, and I believe the Holy Spirit has used this season to give us greater clarity about who God is calling us to be.
While many wonderful ideas emerged, three themes consistently rose to the top:
• We will make disciples intentionally.
• We will welcome people exceptionally well.
• We will communicate clearly where we are
going.
These are not new values for our church. They are biblical priorities that we believe God is calling us to pursue with renewed intentionality as we enter our third century of ministry.
Over the coming months, you’ll begin to see practical steps flowing from these commitments. Some will involve new systems and initiatives.
Others will simply invite each of us to practice everyday acts of hospitality, discipleship, and encouragement. Real culture change happens one conversation, one relationship, and one act of faithfulness at a time.
To help us begin that journey together, our sermon series is titled Culture Change. Together we’ll explore what it means to become the kind of people—and the kind of church—that reflects the heart of Jesus Christ. As the saying goes, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” Lasting transformation doesn’t begin with better programs; it begins with changed hearts.
Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, and your willingness to seek God’s direction together. I truly believe God has wonderful things in store for Perry Methodist Church. As we celebrate 200 years of God’s faithfulness, let’s also look forward with anticipation to what He will do in the years ahead.
