Our CEO, Ella Gudwin, has joined the board of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB)!
The IAPB is an international alliance that promotes eye health at a global scale. In the just the past few years they have spurred remarkable accomplishments in our sector through their coordination with member organizations, including VisionSpring.
Ella joining the IAPB board coincides with VisionSpring stepping up our commitment to them by upgrading to a "Band A" membership status.

Inauguration of BASIX Weaver and Artisans Project | |
Last week, we launched a new See to Earn project to reach weaver and artisan communities in Varanasi.
This initiative is done in partnership with BASIX, an institution focused on promoting sustainable livelihoods for women and low-income communities across India. It will run through the first quarter of 2024, and we expect to connect with thousands of weavers, artisans, and their dependents.

Abimbola Ogundirahun - Country Manager, Nigeria
Based in Lagos Nigeria, Abimbola is a dedicated commercial lead with a strong background in sales and project management.
She brings 15 years of managerial experience in both the healthcare and consumer goods industries.
In her free time, Abimbola likes to meet new people, listen to good music (mostly R&B), and also enjoys spending time with family.

Titilayo Williams - Human Resource & Admin Manager
Titilayo Williams is a seasoned professional with more than 12 years of corporate experience in Human Resources, Projects, and Facilities management.
She holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources International (SPHRI) certification and an MBA from the Lagos Business School.
Titilayo is a dedicated mother of three children with deep interests in fashion, languages, and cuisine.

Sonia Bolsters MERL Capacities | |
Congratulations to Dr. Sonia Pant (Senior Lead, Global MERL) for completing two certificate programs that deepen VisionSpring's MERL expertise.
Sonia completed a course on Economic Evaluation in Public Health from the Center for Disease Control, and another on Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis from John Hopkins University.

Just weeks after moving into a new office, the Bangladesh team has opened their first-ever warehouse space.
