August is upon us, that time of year when our thoughts begin to turn to football schedules and back-to-school preparations. At TXCPA Dallas, too, August is a time of looking forward to the fun and educational events of the upcoming year.
We kick off the month with our annual Young Professionals Group Leadership Breakfast on August 10. The always-enjoyable Adam Tarnow will enlighten our younger members with a presentation titled: The EDGE: Standing Out by Showing You’re All IN! Breakfast and two CPE credits will be provided for this event, so we hope you’ll make it part of your schedule.
The CPE Council is working overtime to build an exciting year of learning events for you. We’ll start unfolding the schedule soon, so stay tuned. In the meantime, I can reveal two big announcements…drum roll, please…
The Member Appreciation CPE Series program returns this year! These popular, four-hour seminars, cancelled for the last two years due to COVID, are coming back in 2022-23. Two events have been scheduled at the Communities Foundation of Texas facility for October 18 and December 7. Details and registration will be coming soon, so save the dates for now and come celebrate the re-opening of this outstanding program with us!
While you’re saving those dates, add one more…
Convergence 2023 is set for Wednesday, June 7, at the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star! Work will begin soon on creating the same excellent-quality program that has been the hallmark of this nationally recognized event. Registration will open before the end of the year, so make your plans now and prepare to register early for a great day of education, entertainment and networking.
Speaking of networking, on August 18, we hope you’ll join us for our monthly Thirsty Thursday networking hour at Blue Mesa Grill. And how about this: On September 27, TXCPA Dallas and TXCPA Fort Worth are joining ranks for the 1st Annual North Texas TXCPA Member Metroplex Mixer! We hope you’ll join us at Shutterbug Selfie Studio in Arlington for this historic event. There will be a fun CPE presentation followed by free time to enjoy this unique facility and get to know our fellow members from the other side of the Trinity.
There will be plenty of opportunity for fun and learning this year at TXCPA Dallas. We invite all our members to get involved and enjoy all your professional association has to offer.

Solo CPA with some tax clientele and highly profitable Financial Services practice seeking self-employed affiliate who wants to bill fewer hours and make more money. Willing to train/mentor tax-oriented CPA to escape the grind of hourly billing. Stop the madness of time sheets, write-offs and collections.
