Chairman's Message

Can you believe it’s December already? Can you believe everything there is to do in this last month of the year? Time to finish (or start) the holiday shopping…time to prepare for parties…time to buy a new calendar and plan for the new year. At TXCPA Dallas our December is much like yours. We are busy with events and meetings all this month, and we are definitely looking to, and planning for, the future.
If you would like to contribute some time to a worthy cause this month, we will be making sandwiches to feed the homeless on Saturday, December 11, at Bowl & Barrel in The Shops at Park Lane. This community outreach event is part of TangoTab’s Feed the City program and has become a chapter favorite. We hope you’ll join us for a time of fun and fellowship as we give back to our community.
Make plans to join your fellow TXCPA Dallas members on December 15, for the Chapter Holiday Party. We are excited to be able to celebrate LIVE this year in the beautifully decorated Park City Club. We invite you to bring a new, unwrapped toy to drop in the collection box that will be onsite at the venue. Join us from 6:00-8:00 p.m. as we toast the passing year and look forward to 2022!
Save the date for the cornerstone event of our year as we proudly present Convergence 2022 at the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star on Monday, May 16, 2022. We are currently working on the event program, and we can assure you it will be everything you’ve come to expect from this nationally recognized conference. Watch your email inbox and this monthly newsletter for updates and the announcement of registration.
As 2021 draws to a close, on behalf of TXCPA Dallas, let me thank you for your continued participation and support. Together, we’ve made it a great year. Let’s go forward into a joyous, productive and prosperous 2022!
Happy Holidays to You and Yours!
Sharon Lukich, Chairman
2021-22 Board of Directors

TXCPA Dallas Scholarship Winner Spotlight
Each month, we will spotlight one of this year's TXCPA Dallas Scholarship winners. Join us this month in getting to know University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) graduate accounting student Zahra Kothia and welcoming her to TXCPA Dallas.
Zahra Kothia is a fighter. As a person with multiple chronic medical conditions, she knows what is to meet and conquer challenges. She also knows exactly what she wants: to become not only a CPA, but to become a leader in the profession. Since she took her first accounting course in the 10th grade, she knew this was the career path she wanted to pursue. As she started and completed her undergraduate degree, her passion for the field grew, further solidifying her desire to become the best CPA she can possibly be.
At UTD, Zahra was a member of the Professional Program in Accounting and was on the Dean's List her senior year. She also serves as a teacher for the Early Childhood Development Center. Zahra received her B.S in Accounting, magna cum laude, in May of 2021. She has interned at Avyan Tax, and as a Private Business Services Intern for EisnerAmper, where she will become a full-time employee upon receipt of her Accounting Masters in the spring of 2022.
TXCPA Dallas welcomes and congratulates Zahra Kothia.
