Chairman's Message
by Kenny Broom, CPA

As the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to a new year at TXCPA Dallas. It’s going to be an outstanding year for the chapter, and I am honored to steward its progress, along with the other Board members and you, the most important part of our organization. I would like to congratulate Sharon Lukich and all the 2021-22 leadership on a very successful term, and I look forward to the challenge of maintaining the high standard they set.
Planning for this year is underway. On the education front, we intend to resume our popular Member Appreciation CPE Series in cooperation with the Communities Foundation of Texas. These seminars have been among our most popular CPE events, and we look forward to offering you the best in accounting education again this year in the comfortable and convenient venue of the CFT. More educational events are being planned, so watch our website calendar and your inbox for all the details as they unfold.
This month we have a couple of great networking opportunities. On Saturday, June 11, we invite you to join us at Bowl & Barrel in the Shops at Park Lane to make meals for the area’s underprivileged at TangoTab’s Feed the City event. On Thursday, June 16, take a break and meet your friends and colleagues at Blue Mesa Grill for our June Thirsty Thursday social gathering. If you’re new to TXCPA Dallas, or you’ve never attended, this is the perfect time to take advantage of this monthly occasion to create new relationships and visit with old friends.
Committees will be meeting soon to discuss their plans for the new year, so I encourage you, if you have not already, to become a committee member and get involved. These groups are the backbone of our organization, and they need your skills and enthusiasm. If you are interested in becoming a part of one or several of the committees, visit this webpage and email Laura McFadden with your selections.
It’s an excellent time to get involved in your professional society when the new year is just beginning. Join a committee, attend a social event, register for a class. There has never been a better time to be a TXCPA Dallas member, and I encourage your input and your participation.
Kenny Broom, CPA
2022-23 Chairman of the Board
