METROLAND'S BEST PUBLIC LIBRARY
Our Pine Hills Branch, That Is!

APL's terrific Pine Hills Branch has been named the "Best Public Library" in Metroland's "Best of the Capital Region 2015" issue!

Metroland writes, "We're biased: This Albany Public Library branch in the renovated telephone building is our neighbor. But we also appreciate Pine Hills' landscaped outdoor reading area and excellent art displays, while giving kudos to all the APL branches and especially to their summertime Stories & Art in the Parks program, an inspired component of APL's early-literacy efforts."

Stop by the Pine Hills Branch at 517 Western Ave. and see what all the fuss is about!

SUMMER READING FUN JUST KEEPS GOING
Dog Days of Summer are Fun Days at APL

We're about halfway through the Summer Reading Program, and the fun is continuing at all of our branch libraries!

It's been great so far, with visits from mounted and K-9 police officers, derby car racing, comic creating, game playing, and so much more.

In the next few weeks, we have even more interesting, and free, activities for kids and teens. The next section of this newsletter highlights a few of them, including: movie showings, craft activities, food tastings, and science experiments.

Check out our summer reading guide, or our online calendar, for the full slate of summer programs for kids and teens.
