AMERICA 250 OHIO

United States of America Semiquincentennial Celebration

The United States will be celebrating it’s Semiquincentennial (that’s 250 years) in 2026 and Ohio is all-in to celebrate “Ohio Style.” Over the next two years, there will be highlights of Ohio and Ohioans’ unique contributions to the U.S. for the past 250+ years.

Here’s how you can be involved in telling your unique to Stark County story:

  • Grant Opportunities | America 250 – Ohio grant funding opportunities are open to non-profit, educational, and local governmental organizations to support educational and commemorative programming about the two-hundred-fiftieth anniversary of the independence and founding of the United States. Grant awards are available for up to $50,000 and do not require a cost match. Applications are open and due November 17, 2023.

  • Become An Official America250-OH Community | We are inviting all levels of municipalities from across the state to apply to be an official AM 250-OH Community. This special designation from the AM 250-OH Commission provides an opportunity for local leaders to network, partner, and exchange information with the state commission team. Apply today to get started.

  • Local Representation on the America 250 - Ohio Commission | Christy Davis, Curator of Exhibitions at the Canton Museum of Art, is one of the 29 members of the America 250-OH Commission charged with preparing the state of Ohio to participate in the United States of America’s 250th anniversary which culminates on July 4, 2026.
