Escape to Essex, MA | October 2020
The Premier Outdoor Painting Competition - Virtual Events
7 Days of Online Events: October 4 - 11, 2020
This beloved fall festival is back–virtually–hosting events for all of us to be inspired by! Get to know the 35 nationally recognized Plein Air artists who are part of this year’s festival. Watch free painting demos everyday at noon. Catch artists’ interviews from Cape Ann and across the country (streamed/live videos will be posted on CAPA’s Facebook page.) And purchase incredible art–including the paintings of Essex shown above–from their online gallery. There are many local scenes featuring Cape Ann’s magical light. A full CAPA week is planned for May 2021!
Artists Love Our Essex Landscape!
Plein air painters are welcome in Essex (year-round!) Setup an easel overlooking the Essex River and Great Marsh at the Greenbelt’s Allyn Cox Reservation, on the historic fields and farmlands of Cogswell’s Grant, in the woodlands of Manchester Essex Conservation Trust’s Wilderness Conservation Area and along the Essex Causeway and Paglia Pocket Park beside the Essex River. All are favorite locations for artists.
