West Liberty Children's Festival

The Twenty Third Annual West Liberty Children's Festival will take place Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
in downtown West Liberty on Third St, with a schedule chock full of performances, crafts, and activities!

Puppeteers for the Day include:
  • Corcoran Puppets from Wisconsin
  • Calliope Puppets from New Orleans
  • Liz Howls from Minneapolis
  • Eulenspiegel Puppets
  • Jeghetto's Marionettes from North Carolina

On the street, enjoy one-on-one performances by visiting puppeteers, juggler Dean Franzen, clown Toto the Clown, and musicians Kalimbaman and The Likely Suspects. Ride a Tiny Train, paint a picture, make a puppet, eat delicious food, and MORE!

This year the Festival is part of a full weekend, Fiesta West Liberty!  From 3:00-10:00 PM, Latinos Unidos will host an evening of live music and Mexican food.

The annual Greenwood Cemetery “Walk (or Ride) Through History” has been scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, Greenwood Cemetery is located at 1814 Lucas Street.

This event is fun for all ages and free to attend. Include this annual tradition in your fall festivities and learn a bit of Muscatine’s history. Your tour guide will relay 22 enticing stories about some of Greenwood Cemetery’s most interesting and influential residents. All tales will be historically accurate and will be sure to entertain you.

The “Walk (or Ride) Through History” will take place rain or shine, and will last for approximately one hour. MuscaBus tours will be available for those who wish to ride, or in case of inclement weather.

Pre-registration is not required for this event. Tours will meet outside of the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel. Please contact the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at (563) 263-0241 for more information.
