Dear Friends and Visitors,
Make Waves This Summer—and Celebrate Freedom by the River!
As summer reaches its sunniest stretch, there’s no better place to celebrate the season—and our nation’s independence—than right here in the Sebastian River Area.
The July 4th Celebration is Sebastian's biggest event of the month, and we can’t wait to gather with you for a day of stars, stripes, sunshine, and spectacular waterfront fireworks!
Join us for a true hometown celebration:
- A patriotic parade through Main Street
- Live music and food trucks at Riverview Park
-
Fireworks over the Indian River at sunset!
It’s a day where community pride and coastal beauty come together—and we invite you to bring your family, your lawn chairs, and your love for liberty!
Beyond the 4th, there’s still plenty of summer magic to explore. Whether you’re paddling through mangrove tunnels, watching dolphins leap from the water, reeling in a river catch, or simply enjoying a breezy walk along the shore, Sebastian offers an all-American summer experience like no other.
This past month, we were thrilled to welcome the Mel Fisher’s Treasures Summer Camp to the Chamber! Our Tourism Director had the fun experience of speaking with the campers about the vital role the Chamber plays in supporting local businesses and promoting tourism. Together, we explored what makes our region so special—from the rich history of treasure hunters and maritime culture to the natural wonders of the Indian River Lagoon.
The lagoon is more than just a beautiful backdrop—it’s a living, breathing part of our community, a magnet for tourism, and a sanctuary for wildlife. Sharing that message with the next generation of explorers was truly inspiring! We ended the visit on a sweet note with ice cream and goodie bags filled with lagoon-themed fun, thanks to our wonderful partners: Yellow Dog Café, Environmental Learning Center, and LagoonLife.org.
As you enjoy your July adventures—by boat, board, bike, on the beach or diving through the sky—remember that every visit helps support local businesses, protect our natural treasures, and celebrate the best of Florida living. With that in mind don’t forget to mark your calendars for Grill Out Night on August 8th— one of our favorite summertime traditions, a signature event where community, food, and summer fun collide!
From our Chamber family to yours, we wish you a joyful, safe, and patriotic July. Here’s to freedom, community, and making waves together!
With gratitude,
See you out there,
The Visit SRA Team

Gratefully yours,
Nicholas Sanzone

Tucked along the shoreline at Capt Hiram’s Resort, Sebastian Watercraft Rentals has become a favorite for locals and visitors seeking an unforgettable day on the water. Whether you're in town for a family vacation, a fishing trip with friends, or just looking to explore the Indian River Lagoon from a new perspective, this family-owned business offers a seamless, scenic, and safe way to do it all. As Captain Curtis says, "Its's fun for the whole family!"
Founded in 1998 and reinvigorated in 2006 on February 14th , Valentines Day Captain Curtis has turned Sebastian Watercraft Rentals into the business we all love! They are proudly rated the #1 pontoon boat rental in the area, Sebastian Watercraft Rentals has earned its reputation through consistent service, high-quality equipment, and a staff that knows how to make every guest feel like a VIP. Located directly on Indian River Drive in Sebastian, their dockside launch point means you can go from check-in to casting off in no time.
A Fleet for Everyone
At the heart of their operation is a full fleet of Bentley and Misty Harbor pontoon boats, available in various configurations—including fishing-friendly models. These roomy, stable boats are perfect for families with kids, wildlife watchers, and even novice captains. Whether you're exploring hidden mangrove tunnels, spotting dolphins, or pulling in redfish from the flats, there's a boat (and a route) for your kind of adventure. You can travel on the Indian River Lagoon and up the Sebastian River to experience one of the world's most diverse ecosystems in the world. On your cruise you can see dolphins, manatees, eagles, osprey and other natural wildlife.

Safety and Simplicity
Renters must be 21 or older, with a valid photo ID and a credit card. Boaters born after 1987 will need a Florida Boating Safety ID card (which can be earned online in under 30 minutes). Don’t have boating experience? Their friendly staff will walk you through everything from engine start-up to channel navigation.
One of their standout features is a no-deposit policy—a simple $1,000 credit check on your card covers the rental, offering peace of mind without financial hassle.
Local Expertise and Exceptional Service
What really sets Sebastian Watercraft Rentals apart is the people. Review after review praises staff members like Noah, Robert, and Mike for their professionalism, helpfulness, and knowledge of the area. They’ll hand you a map, highlight the best places to see dolphins, suggest a sandbar to anchor for lunch, and make sure you’re fully confident before you cast off.
For frequent renters or local adventurers, their VIP Membership Program is a hidden gem. Members receive a discounted package of half-day trips, free fuel, and flexibility to take out the boat in the fleet that best fits your needs—making it a fantastic option for those who want the perks of owning a boat without the maintenance.

The Cultural Council’s Art in Public Places program has been exhibiting works of art around the county since 2015. Our five venues include the IRC Courthouse, IRC Administration Complex, the Intergenerational Recreation Center, Vero Beach City Hall and Indian River Distillery. Local artists who are Cultural Council members have the opportunity to exhibit their art for the public to enjoy in places that might otherwise be left baron. Approximately one month before an exhibit is installed, artists are sent a “call to artists” as an invitation to submit their work, sometimes relating to a theme. Juried selections are displayed for a three- to four-month rotating period of time.
