Our favorite season of riverside relaxation is in full swing here in the Sebastian River Area. With warm breezes, golden sunsets, and endless ways to unwind by the water, May is the perfect time to embrace the natural beauty, local flavors, and laid-back charm that make our coastal community shine.
Whether you're sailing along the lagoon, paddling through mangrove trails, or sipping a refreshing drink at a waterfront bar, there’s no better backdrop for both adventure and relaxation.
This month, we’re thrilled to spotlight Just In Time Jet Ski and Boat Rentals, one of Sebastian’s favorite spots to start your adventure, it’s the perfect way to explore the area on the water, soak up the sunshine and embrace the fun, breezy coastal lifestyle we’re known for. Be sure to visit them during National Tourism Week from May 4th to the 10th. Additionally that week we will be releasing out FAM Tour video on our socials, stay tuned for more tourism fun all tourism week long.
Recently, VISIT FLORIDA shared new infographics showcasing how the tourism industry impacts every part of our state. In 2023-2024, Florida welcomed 142.9 million visitors, contributing a $127.7 billion impact and raising $36.9 billion in taxes. Specifically, the Central East Coast of Florida and Indian River County saw the creation of 116,700 jobs in the region. We’re proud to be part of this thriving industry and continue sharing the magic of the Sebastian River Area with travelers from near and far.
Mark your calendars for the Chamber’s Annual Golf Tournament on May 3rd! Whether you're an experienced golfer or just looking to enjoy a fun day out, this event is a great opportunity to connect with fellow community members, support the Chamber, and enjoy some friendly competition on the green.
Also, be sure to check out our event calendar for the final Concerts in the Park of the season on May 9th with Glory Days, playing rock classics from the 60s-90s. Just-In-Time Watercraft Rentals

Your Adventure Awaits: When it comes to exploring the Indian River Lagoon, no one delivers fun Just-In-Time like Justin and Taylor, the dynamic duo behind Just-In-Time Watercraft Rentals in Sebastian, Florida.
Founded in July 2021 with just one pontoon and two jet skis, the business has rapidly expanded into a fleet of four boats and twelve jet skis — a true local success story. Now celebrating their fourth anniversary with a splash each July, they’ve built more than just a business — they’ve built a community experience that captures the thrill of the water and the laid-back vibes of our coastal town.
So, what sets them apart? Location, location, location! Just steps from the Sebastian Inlet, their spot provides immediate access to some of the area’s most beautiful waterways. But it’s not just geography — it’s technology. Their jet skis are equipped with cutting-edge safety features and smart systems that help renters stay within designated zones, conserve fuel, and stay safe — all while fuel is included in the price, "Once you pay, you play.”
From premium pontoons (8- and 13-passenger options) to Bluetooth-equipped jet skis with room for two or three riders, every rental is designed for both ease and adventure. While they don’t offer guided tours, they do help guests map out their own perfect day on the water — from visiting treehouse island to cruising the mangrove trails near Wabasso, or heading west into the St. Sebastian River in search of alligators and dolphins.
Safety and education are at the heart of their operation. Every renter receives a quick but thorough 5–10 minute orientation covering the rules of the lagoon, how to operate the equipment, and what to expect. Life jackets, water shoes, and good vibes are included. Families and first-timers are especially welcome — the 3-person jet skis are ideal for small groups or those new to boating.
Beyond rentals, Just-In-Time is a steward of the lagoon. From rescuing pelicans tangled in fishing line to flipping over stranded stingrays, they take their role seriously in preserving the natural beauty of the waterways. And their love for Sebastian shines through in every interaction — from supporting local charities and school programs to partnering with the Chamber and embracing local artists to capture the beauty of boating life.

Concerts in the Park Review: Day Tripper and The 🎶🎸Sebastian RIver High School Band 🎸🎶
On April 11th, the Beatles cover band, Day Tripper took the stage at Riverview Park in Sebastian for another fantastic evening of Concerts in the Park! At that concert we had ~850 people and gave away 10 raffel prizes to some our lucky attendees. Under ideal "Chamber weather," with perfect temperatures and clear skies, the five-member band delivered an electrifying performance of classic rock hits. The attendees enjoyed an evening of great music, making the most of this beautiful time of year.
On April 25th – Sebastian High School Band will play and we love to support our talented local students! Adding to the excitement, the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce will gave away 10 raffle prize packs to lucky audience members. With every attendee receiving a free raffle ticket just for showing up, the giveaways add an extra layer of fun to the night.
Of course, no concert is complete without great food! This seasons events featured a delicious variety of food options, including food trucks 40 South and Space Coast Tots, Uncommon Crepes and Waffles along with JRV Mobile Hotdog Cart and the Sebastian Lions Club, ensuring everyone had something tasty to enjoy.

Looking ahead, to the Concerts in the Park series in May, we have one final performance on May 9th with Glory Days your local band playing Rock Classics from the 60's-90's. We will have four food vendors: Space Coast Tots, Uncommon, Crepes & Waffles, JRV Mobile Food & Catering, and the Lions Club will have their famous popcorn.

🎶 Finally Friday Event Series Recap – A Season of Music, Food & Community🎶
🌅The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce wrapped up its Finally Friday concert series with four unforgettable evenings filled with music, good vibes, and hometown pride. Held once a month from December through April, the series brought together residents, visitors, and local businesses for a true celebration of community. A special thanks to the City of Sebastian for providing such a beautiful backdrop, partnership and unwavering support for community events like these.
December 13th – Group Therapy kicked things off with soulful harmonies and feel-good energy that warmed the crowd during a cool winter evening.
January 17th – Mighty Flea Circus brought the swing, the sass, and the blues — turning the riverside into a full-on dance floor.
February 14th – Penny Creek Band serenaded us on Valentine’s Day with heartfelt bluegrass melodies that had couples and families alike tapping their feet.
April 18th – The Pine Box Dwellers wrapped up the season with a powerhouse performance rooted in southern storytelling and gritty Americana rock.
But the music was just the beginning. Over 20 local vendors joined us throughout the series, turning each event into a bustling night market of handmade goods, community connections, and delicious eats. Attendees enjoyed some of our favorite local food trucks including 40 South, Space Coast Tots, JRV Mobile Hot Dogs, Joe’s BBQ, and new favorite Uncommon Crêpes and Waffles — serving up fresh, flavorful bites that made every Friday night even sweeter.

The Blue Water Open is an annual offshore fishing tournament hosted by the Sebastian Exchange Club in Sebastian, Florida. Now in its 31st year, the 2025 tournament is scheduled for May 31, with a Captain’s Meeting on May 30 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Capt. Hiram’s. This charity-driven event features a $21,000 prize purse and supports local causes, particularly child abuse prevention and youth programs.

Join us in Sebastian, Florida, from July 18–20, 2025, for Mel Fisher Days, a celebration of adventure, history, and community spirit. This annual event honors the legacy of legendary treasure hunter Mel Fisher and supports two vital charities:
- Michael Abt Jr. Have a Heart Foundation: Dedicated to preventing sudden cardiac arrest in youth through heart screenings, CPR training, and the placement of AEDs in schools.
- Wesley House Family Services: Committed to nurturing children and strengthening families across Monroe County with accredited programs and services.
