By Heather Sears, Tourism Coordinator
The month of May kicks off with National Travel and Tourism Week celebrating our collective strength and promising future of the US travel and tourism industry. It’s also a great time to make your travel plans to our charming Sebastian River Area (SRA). To celebrate Mother’s Day, treat the mother in your life to a day of personal wellness. In fact, feel free to treat her all month long!

Here are some activities in the Sebastian River Area with an emphasis on personal wellness. Special salon and spa services are a good place to start. Find our favorites here. Book a relaxing and unique charter boat tour with Peacemaker Charters or a pontoon boat tour with Capt. Hiram’s Resort. The Environmental Learning Center has miles of nature trails to explore and is highlighted at the bottom for this month’s Tourism Partner Spotlight. Rent some kayaks or paddleboards and explore the Indian River Lagoon and its diverse wildlife. Give Just in Time Rentals, and Surfside Grill & Adventures a try. A visit to one of our local garden centers; Busy Bee Lawn & Garden Center or Rock City Gardens is sure to please the senses. Appreciate the arts and culture of the SRA by visiting its civic theatres, museums, art shows, and historical sites. Finish off the month of personal wellness with a stroll on the beach and sampling of local cuisine from the many different waterfront restaurants.

Now that we’ve given you some ideas, scroll down for events happening this month, make your plans, and go out there and start exploring. The future of travel and tourism is happening now!
