The Hymers Fall Fair Is Tradition
The first Fair in Hymers was held on September 12, 1912. The true country spirit of that very first market still remains. Intentionally, there is no beer garden and no midway and to this day, the Fair remains uniquely 'country'. The vision of the Fair is an on-going commitment to encourage an awareness of agriculture.
The people in the rural area around Thunder Bay are still proud of producing their own food and raising their own livestock.
| |
They still like to compete with their neighbours when it comes to who can bake the best pumpkin pie or who has the nicest looking rooster…just like it was many years ago.
|
The Metropolitan Moose is a full service bakery and restaurant located downtown Kakabeka Falls, less than a 30 minute drive west of Thunder Bay and is easily found by it's quaint log cabin design.

Magnus Theatre presents Gaslight which is set in a Victorian house in London, where Bella Manningham lives with her husband Jack. Bella is increasingly becoming convinced that she is losing her mind, as she experiences strange occurrences in the house. Objects go missing, and the gaslights in the house dim and brighten without any apparent reason. She frequently forgets things and becomes emotionally distressed. Jack, however, reassures Bella that there is nothing wrong and that she is simply imagining things. But is she imagining them?
