Gather for Good Neighbor Day

Wednesday, October 1, 3:00-4:30pm

Stop by the library any time between 3:00-4:30pm to meet your neighbors and community helpers. We will have coloring pages, friendship bracelet making, a conversation station, information on free events and resources, and light refreshments.


Patrons of all ages are welcome to attend; no registration necessary. Please note that children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. 

(Virtual) 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group

Wednesdays, October 1 & 15, 9:30-11:30am

This group meets via Zoom on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. If you are unemployed, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, or re-entering the job market, this program is perfect for you.


Meetings include interactive workshops on topics relevant to career transition, guest speakers, access to hiring managers, small group breakout rooms to network, and 1-on-1 coaching guidance. Participating on a regular basis will give job seekers tools and strategies for a successful job search.

Gentle Chair Yoga

Join us for a rejuvenating chair yoga class! Led by Karen of Sacred Turtle Yoga and Mary of Recreating Peace, this class offers a safe, supportive environment where you can stretch, strengthen, and calm your mind without needing to get down on the floor. Chair yoga is perfect for seniors, beginners, people with limited mobility, or anyone looking for a gentle way to stay active and centered.

Join Kati for Adult LEGO Club (ages 18+)! We have LEGO kits that can be put together, or you can always bring your own LEGOs to put together. Kati will help you learn how to read LEGO instructions and assist you in creating your LEGO masterpiece.

Coffee Cupping: A Coffee Tasting

Join coffee enthusiast Rob Fitzgibbon for a morning of freshly brewed flavors!

Rob will offer a brief presentation on the history, growing, and flavor profiles of coffee.


Participants will taste different coffees and identify the flavors and smells in each brew. If you are a fan of a good cup of joe, join us to develop a deeper appreciation for this favorite morning beverage. 


Please note that coffee will be served without milk or sugar, as add-ins mask the coffee.

Autumn Book Tasting

A book tasting is an opportunity to sample a variety of books in different genres. "Taste" and discuss a selection of books, and leave having 20+ new book recommendations to add to your reading list. 


Genres offered at this book tasting include mysteries, cozy fiction, autumnal reads, fantasy, and horror/supernatural. Whether you are a reader of these genres or someone who finds them outside of your comfort zone, you are the perfect guest for a book tasting! This is an opportunity to discover books from authors and genres you may not otherwise explore. 


Light refreshments will be served. Come mingle and bulk up your fall reading list!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

We invite you to join in this online personal reading challenge! Open to children ages birth to 5 years. Read a book to your child and then log it on their Beanstack account. The goal is to have read 1,000 books before your child starts Kindergarten. Logging books will earn virtual badges & fun prizes throughout their reading journey. Registration required. Are you a local visual artist who would like to share your work with the community? Apply to Hamilton-Wenham Public Library's Art Display Program!


Each artist or arts organization accepted to participate in the program will be invited to hang their artwork in designated areas of the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library for two months, subject to availability. 23 wall spaces are available for each exhibit, and a minimum of 11 pieces are required. Artists are welcome to collaborate and share an exhibition in order to fulfill the minimum requirement.

Friends of the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library Donation Days

Mondays, October 6, 20, & 27, 10:15am-4:00pm

During donation days you are welcome to donate books and DVDs in good condition.


Please note that textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, CDs, cassette tapes, VHS, vinyl records, puzzles, games, and toys are not accepted. Books that are moldy, damp, or otherwise damaged are also not accepted.


Donations are limited to 4 bags at a time. If you have a donation larger than 4 bags please email the Friends at fohwpl@gmail.com to discuss before bringing your items to the Library.
