Long before I was part of the Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce, a group of Chamber Board of Directors had a vision for the future. To carry out the vision, they needed to make sure that new leaders would be encouraged and provided with the knowledge to be effective leaders in our community. That board developed a class where emerging leaders could hone their skills, learn about the community, and graduate ready to take on the opportunities for a growing city.
I have the great fortune to work with our current leadership program. Leadership Weld County continues the Chamber’s commitment to ensuring the continuity of knowledgeable and effective leadership in Greeley and Weld County.

The nine-month program requires a commitment of one full day each month, September – May. At the end of that time, class members walk away with relationships that will last a lifetime.

Leadership Weld County will again focus on learning about and examining individual leadership behaviors. We utilize Leadership Practices Inventory to help participants understand their own specific leadership behaviors. Then there is a deep dive into workplace culture, change, and conflict to help you navigate these very complicated areas.

In addition, class sessions cover topics such as: Agriculture, Local Government, Health & Human Services, Economic Development, Public Safety, Education, and Natural Resources.

If you want to be a stronger leader within your organization and understand what drives our local economy, I encourage you to apply. You’ll be happy you did!
