Last week I attended the Western Association of Chamber Executives Conference in Portland, Oregon. With hundreds of Chamber Executives from around the country, there were impressive ideas being shared that are game changers for how we help our investors and community. They were committed to be the Voice for Business and making sure the business community thrives.
This was my first-time attending WACE, as I previously attended the American Chamber of Commerce Executives ACCE conference. We belong to both parent organizations and they are both valuable. They help increase Greeley’s visibility to the rest of the country, grow our team and help us with fresh ideas to R & D (rob and duplicate). Our fellow Colorado Chamber’s in attendance were held high as examples across the country of places that are doing things right and being innovative. I feel confident Greeley and the Northern Colorado region are examples of what we can do if we collaborate and hold each other in high regard.
So many lessons were learned even though I have been in Chamber leadership for more than 19 years. At the top of the list, is that many of these Chamber organizations including ours have been around for 100 years and the CEO is just the steward of the story for this point in time. I intend to make this a meaningful Chapter in our organizations journey.
I am confident there is nothing we cannot do! To the Great that awaits!
