The younger sister of famed French musician Nadia Boulanger, Lili died at a very early age and thus only composed a small body of music. The exquisite choral piece Sous Bois is virtually unknown and was out of print for decades. I believe this performance was actually the NY Premiere even though the piece was composed in the early years of the 20th century.

The work depicts two lovers on a walk in the woods and their tender remembrance of it. Daniel Beckwith was the sensitive pianist, and returns for our upcoming performance of this, and other Boulanger pieces, on March 14.
