We appreciate your interest in our organization and our mission; to help fund the ongoing research to find a cure for cancer. This newsletter is for sharing our most recent news, our upcoming events, and ways that you can help. See our past news here. As long as there is research to be done, our voices of hope will sing out for the cure!

Broadway and Beyond!

On Saturday, October 14th, Voices of Hope will present our 9th annual gala performance, Broadway and Beyond!

Broadway and Beyond highlights the amazing vocal range and spectacular dance moves of the multi-talented VOH membership.  This evening will blend traditional favorites with contemporary break-out numbers, and as always, all proceeds go to benefit the Henri and Belinda Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at Mass General Hospital.

The gala begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction in the lobby at 7pm, followed by the show at 8pm.  In addition, those who purchase VIP tickets will have the chance to attend the after party, located at the NSMT Broadway Club.

Don't miss out on this spectacular one night event!  Tickets can be purchased through North Shore Music Theater's Concert and Events page.
Summer Events

Voices of Hope was very busy during the summer months, raising funds and awareness for cancer research.  Here's what we did!

Major Fundraising Events

On July 22nd and 23rd, Voices of Hope fielded a team of 50 runners of all ages for the DMSE Classic at Merrimack College in North Andover.  We were honored to sing the National Anthem and even staffed "singing" water stations to keep the runners motivated for the 5K, 10K, and half marathon.  Thank you to Dave McGilvray for selecting VOH asone of the charitable causes to benefit from the event, and to Team VOH who raised money to "outrun cancer"!

Our VOH Youth put on an amazing performance of the musical comedy, Drowsy Chaperone. We thank all of the talented performers and production team who dedicated their time and energy, and are especially grateful to Acting Out! Theater Company of Lawrence for donating their performance space for this show.

On August 3rd, VOH held our 7th annual Barbara Byrd Golf Classic at the Hillview Golf Course in North Reading. We had our best turnout ever, and were thrilled to be joined by WCVB sportscaster Bob Halloran. In addition to extending a special thanks to our event sponsor WalMart, we want to also thank everyone who golfed, volunteered, joined us in the various challenges and participated in the silent auction. It all contributed to our most successful golf tournament ever. We even managed to fit in musical entertainment at lunch!

Raising Awareness

For the first time, we were invited to sing the National Anthem at NASCAR, which was broadcast live! July 15th proved to be an incredible day up in Louden, NH; including the trip in the yellow school bus.

We were honored to perform the Canadian National Anthem for the Boston Red Sox-Toronto Blue Jays game at Fenway Park on July 17th. It was our first time performing this melodic anthem for our northern neighbors.

On July 29th, we performed the National Anthem for the Lowell Spinners on family night, which included a candy drop from the sky! We look forward to this event every summer!

In August, we spent time in the studio and recorded the Voices of Hope Anthem, to be released sometime this fall. We will let you know as soon as it is available!

Other Fundraising

In early June, Voices of Hope held a restaurant fundraiser at Fuddruckers in Reading. Thanks to Jim Boland and the entire Fuddruckers crew for their support!

Later that month, we hosted a Paint Nite event at our "Nest" rehearsal space in Lawrence. We created some beautiful art and had a fun time!

We're so grateful to everyone who invited us to perform, organized and event, hosted a fundraiser, or showed up to participate over the summer.  Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to the cure!

We appreciate your continued support as we aim to increase our fundraising goal every year.  Since 2009, VOH has donated over $500,000 to cancer research, $365,500 specifically to the Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at the MGH Cancer Center.  We couldn't do it without you!
