Welcome to Our
Guest Speaker,
Maulian Dana!

Ambassador Maulian Dana grew up on Indian Island within the Penobscot Nation's Reservation. After graduating from University of Maine at Orono with a degree in Political Science, she served as an elected member of the Penobscot Tribal Council. In September 2017, Chief Kirk Francis appointed her as Tribal Ambassador, in which she serves as a liaison and advocate for policy and laws that protect the Penobscot people. Virtual Rally
For Indigenous
Peoples' Day
Oct 11 | 10 am - 12 pm

In 2019, Maine officially changed Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day — an overdue yet important milestone for our state. Now, it’s time to honor the Wabanaki Tribes by restoring their right to self-govern. Join the Wabanaki Alliance for the Rally for Wabanaki Rights. This event will be live-streamed through the Wabanaki Alliance Facebook Page. Click here to RSVP for the virtual Facebook Live event.
Our Folk Group is
Looking for Instrumentalists!

The folk group, 425 Congress, is looking for instrumentalists who enjoy the eclectic blend of music we present to the congregation and would love to have fun backing up the vocalists. No singing is required on your part, just an interest in having a good time when you contribute your musical talents to our ensemble. For more information, please contact Tony or Brenda.
Results From
Our Survey

Thank you for your input and thoughtful comments on our recent survey about returning to in-person worship. We are so pleased that 122 people participated - about 40% of our membership. 99% of the responders reported as being fully vaccinated. 79% of the responders indicated that they would be comfortable returning to indoor in-person services in the Meeting House, if masks and social distancing are required. The results clearly show that there is interest in returning to in-person worship. Still, there were also many valid concerns brought up in the written responses, like the inclusion of children in our gatherings, unvaccinated vaccine-eligible adults, and the logistics of the choir and ushers. We recognize that these must be considered and addressed before we can conduct worship safely for all participants. As of today, with the current data of Covid cases and hospitalizations, we are going to continue worship on Zoom and Facebook live until we are sure we can keep everyone safe inside of our building. Rev. Elaine thanks you for your feedback, your survey responses, and your continued wisdom and patience.

Church For
EveryBody Update
We had a successful ribbon cutting ceremony last week at the new rear entrance of the church! Many came to celebrate this momentous occasion. We could not have completed this project without the incredibly generous donations of our members and friends. A huge thank you to all involved! You can watch the news coverage video here. You can read more about the project here.

Getting in Touch with First Parish

It may take a few days to return phone messages, so email is the best way to reach all First Parish staff. Please keep in mind that Scott, Toben and Laurie work part-time, and will return messages when they are able. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
