UAE, Saudi, Bahrain, Egypt Cut Ties with Qatar
As you would have seen in the news the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt have terminated their ties with Qatar effective this morning. This means that all border crossings in and out of Qatar will be closed within the next 24 hours.
The situation has resulted in closure of UAE airspace and seaports for all Qataris within 24 hours and banning all Qatari means of transportation, coming to or leaving the UAE (Qatar airways), from crossing, entering or leaving the UAE territories, and taking all legal measures in collaboration with friendly countries and international companies with regards to Qataris using the UAE airspace and territorial waters, from and to Qatar, for national security considerations.
As a result of the above any shipments booked on Qatar airways will not be able to enter UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt.  The situation mainly affects the airfreight so DO NOT make any new bookings on Qatar airways or other related Qatar carriers to the Middle East.
Shipments already booked to depart and even handed over to the carrier on Qatar should be stopped and rebooked on alternative carriers, please reach out to our airfreight team to coordinate.  Any sea freight shipments already booked for transit in UAE including cargo on vessels transiting UAE please check with the respective carrier to ask what their actions will be. For LCL in our consolidation boxes we will hold cargo in UAE and contact the origin offices directly.
DSV is available to assist with any cargo that might be offloaded in UAE, please advise our sea freight team if these situations arise.
These are highly unforeseen circumstances and DSV considers this a force major so any additional costs for rerouting of cargo should be for the clients account.
