The Virginia Wesleyan University women's volleyball team defeated Hollins University volleyball team in four sets on Saturday morning in ODAC action in Roanoke, VA. With the win, the Marlins sit tied for first in the ODAC Volleyball standings with Washington and Lee University, who VWU plays Wednesday night.

The No. 18 Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team fell to the Generals of Washington & Lee University 1-0 on Saturday evening in Lexington, Va.

The Marlins field hockey team fell to the No. 16 Generals of Washington & Lee University 10-1 on Saturday afternoon in Lexington, Va. Junior Willow Baker scored the Marlins lone goal with an assist from Olivia Winslow
Men's and Women's Swimming
Women pick up first win of the season; Men break three records
Marlins Men and Women Swim teams traveled to Lynchburg, VA, on Saturday, October 15 to take on the WildCats of Randolph College and the Seahawks of St. Mary's College of Maryland. The Women's team picked up their first win of the season, with one team record by freshman Abigail Carlson in the 1000 freestyle (12:28.61).

Men's Cross Country finishes 7th at the Roanoke Cross Country Invitational
The Virginia Wesleyan men's cross team finished 7th at the Roanoke Cross Country Invitational on Friday evening at Green Hill Park in Salem, VA. Five of the eight Marlin competitors lowered their personal best times, with several finishing within seconds of their previous bests.
Women's Cross Country
Women's Cross Country finishes 9th at the Roanoke XC Invitational
The Virginia Wesleyan women's cross team finished 9th at the Roanoke Cross Country Invitational on Friday evening at Green Hill Park in Salem, VA. All six racers set new personal records in the 6K race as the teams now prepare for the 2022 ODAC Championship meet in two weeks.
Marlins Athletics
Homecoming and Family Weekend 2022
Marlins returned to campus October 7-9 for tradition, togetherness, and team spirit.
Conference Athletic Games were part of the action Saturday, with competitions from volleyball, field hockey, and women’s soccer. Annual Alumni Games brought Marlins back for friendly competition in baseball, softball, track and field, and men’s and women’s lacrosse.

The Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by TowneBank, was held in the CMAC inside the Jane P. Batten Student Center. Members of the fourteenth class were honored, including VWU benefactors O.L. “Butch” Everett and John A. Trinder, and former Marlin athletic greats Randy E. Lott ’14 (Men’s Track and Field, 2010-2014), Ronald J. Yuhasz, Jr. ’01 (Men’s Basketball, 1996-2001), and the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championship Softball Team.
