Anchor Coffee House Tickets
Now on Sale
Tickets for the 2019-20 Anchor Coffee House season are now available: $80 for Season Tickets; $40 for Pick-Three Tickets; $15 for advance individual tickets; $20 for individual tickets purchased at the door. The first show of the season is October 5, featuring Bob Pace.

Families with children who are in 5th grade or younger are invited to the Ice Cream Social & Pool Party at Pastor Bill's house Sunday, August 18, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Last Three Youth Pool Parties for this Summer

All youth entering 6th grade in the fall through senior high are invited to Westminster's Youth Pool Parties. The last three Pool Parties for this season will be Aug. 7, 14 and 21. Don't miss the fun!
Empty Nesters' Game Night
All Empty Nesters' are invited to a special game night Friday, August 16, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., in The Commons. Please bring a game for three to ten people to play, and a snack to share.
New Gallery Exhibit Features Art by Carrie Hall
For the month of August, the Visual Arts Committee presents a new art exhibit of works by Westminster member Carrie Hall.  
Summer Choir
This Sunday come to worship early to be part of Summer Choir!
 
Summer Choir rehearses at
8:20 a.m. in the Sanctuary and sings during worship. Music is accessible and inclusive. Singers in 2nd grade through adult are invited.

Group Information
Westminster is a fairly large church with nearly 1100 members. Small groups help bring the church down to a manageable size. We have numerous groups that bring together folks with similar interests.

Book Club will meet tonight, August 7, at 6:30 p.m., in Simmerman Lounge to discuss "A Man Called Ove." Learn more here.

Pizza Lovers' Group meets the second Tuesday of the month. Their next gathering is August 13, at 5:15 p.m., at Godfather's on University, in Des Moines.
Empty Nesters' Group The next Empty Nesters' meeting is Friday, August 16, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., in The Commons. Please bring a game for three to ten people to play, and a snack to share.
Men's Group meets each Wednesday for breakfast at 
6:30 a.m., at the Waveland Cafe, during the summer. They also meet the third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. for dinner at the Windsor Heights Hy-Vee. Their next dinner is August 21.
Stitchin' Time   will meet on Thursday, August 22, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hope Alcove. Bring your current project and come to chat and stitch, knit, crochet, etc. 
Afternoon Bridge  will meet Thursday, August 22, at 1:00 p.m. in Simmerman Lounge. Call the church office at 274-1534 if you'd like to join in!

Restaurant Group 2 meets the third Saturday of the month. Their next gathering is at the Machine Shed on Saturday, August 24 at 5:00 p.m.
Young Parents , Sunday, August 25, drop the kids off at the church nursery, and head to Eatery A for a time of kid-free connection with other Westminster parents. Childcare will be provided at the church nursery. Drop off between 3:45-4:00, then head to Eatery A. Pick up the kids before 6:00 pm. Please RSVP kelceemurphy@gmail.com ASAP, so childcare can be scheduled and reservations can be made!
Men’s Basketball meets every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in The Commons.
