Program Spotlight
CRC's New Logo
You’ll notice this newsletter is sporting new colors and a new CRC logo! We unveiled our new look on April 14, with a more modern and fresh approach to the colors and font. The heart – the core of what we provide and what the community provides to us – remains as an integral part of the logo. The colors signify the assistance we give: green for healthy food, blue for stable housing and purple for safety from domestic violence. Over the next few months, we’ll be changing all our branding over to the new logo, so stay tuned for more updates.
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month
How can we truly measure the impact that volunteers have on a program? There are tracked hours and number of volunteers, yes. Those hours translate into a monetary value that can be used to apply for grants and other support from community federal sources. But volunteers are so much more than the number on the page. Here are just a few incredible ways volunteers made a difference this past year that will impact others in our community:
  • Volunteer Rylee Boyles created a website and worked to promote "slow fashion" at her high school through a thrift store club. Her advocacy highlighted the value of shopping at stores like CRC's and how it can change the world for the better.
  • The CRC Food Pantry provided 403,805 pounds of healthy food to those who needed it in 2021. The Food Pantry is 100% volunteer run, which translated to over 7,200 hours of service in 2021.
  • Volunteer Wyatt Beal took the challenge to join in October's Domestic Violence Awareness Month and arranged for CRC staff Luis Canseco to speak to his high school classmates about the issue.
Thank you!

The word dignity is going to be prominently featured by CRC in the coming weeks, months and years. These seven letters are a portal into a depth of meaning about honoring the intrinsic, transcendent value of every person. This is a value I could feebly try and define with words, but its description – its actualization – is best lived out in deeds that make it real ...
