CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children
CASA Volunteer Advocates go through an initial training before being sworn in and assigned a child. Volunteers get to know the child by talking with everyone involved in that child's life including parents, relatives, foster parents, teachers, medical professionals, attorneys, social workers, and others. Volunteers use this information to inform judges and others of what the child needs and what will be the best permanent home for them via a monthly report. The recommended commitment is 1 hour per week visiting with the child in addition to taking time to connect with other people in the child's life as stated above. Due to the pandemic, visits may be virtual. For more questions, please contact us! Must be at least 21.
