Dal Wood started the KEY (Kiwanis Empowering Youth) Clubs, which recruits volunteers for events such as Kids Cancer, Winter Olympics, Green Bay Botanical Garden, Art Street, fundraisers for those who have been in an accident, The NEW Zoo and for other community events, Blankets for the homeless just to name a few. Dal is the liaison between Downtown Green Bay Kiwanis Club and the KEY Clubs. He is the "go-to" man for the KEY Clubs and their needs.
Because of Dal, thousands of young people have "hit the streets running" to volunteer and assist the community. He started a KEY Club at Southwest, and has since spread to De Pere and Bayport High School. The community can rely on KEY Clubs to provide a high level of volunteerism and awareness of their cause. It is because of Dal that these clubs exist locally.
Dal has gently guided and coached students and adult leaders alike to become better leaders themselves. Always with a cheerful smile and a gentle hand, he motivates others to become volunteers and encourages others to step out of their "comfort zone" so others can benefit through their service.
Dal has consistently gone above and beyond to encourage youth to volunteer and has single-handedly extended the Kiwanis hand by starting KEY Clubs in the local high schools. These additional clubs have nearly 200 students who do nothing but volunteer!
Thank you Dal, for your dedication and being such a great mentor to the youth in our community!
