Mason Kohlbeck has helped clean up two local state parks which specifically included picking up garbage, clearing off park trails, digging out areas to be used and other various tasks. Mason was motivated by a long line of relatives who have supported the community in the same way and hopes to carry on their legacy. Along with the other members of his Boy Scout Troupe, Mason served a community need that benefited all of those who use park services.
Mason spent roughly 120 hours over the course of the year at the different locations completing his volunteer service. He has made the parks better for all of those who use their services by helping provide a clean and comfortable environment for the public.
Mason has used his desire to carry on his family's legacy of supporting the environment to strengthen the role of the
Boy Scouts in providing a clean and stable environment for both individuals and wildlife. Mason has a strong work ethic and a passion for leading his fellow Boy Scouts to accomplish services for his community. He believes these experiences have helped him grow because he has gained a greater understanding of the environment and how human beings can impact wildlife.
His goals of providing a clean environment for all are commendable and his follow through is one of his excellent assets.
Thank you Mason, for all you have done in helping to keep our state parks clean and inviting!
