Jamie Leick, Mary Zeller, Barbara Wilson and Diane Betz
make up the
"Give A Kid A Book Leadership Team"!
The Give-A-Kid-A-Book is an annual program through the Friends of the Brown County Library and is in it's 26th year. These ladies have been the leadership team for the past 5 years. They are involved in all levels of the project which includes fundraising, promotion, ordering, sorting, transportation, staging and distribution of the books.
Each year over 10,000 books are distributed through the Give-A-Kid-A-Book program to low-income families through the Salvation Army Toys for Tots Christmas program. This team has been responsible for the successful recruiting of program sponsors like Brown County Community Women's Club, Nicolet Bank, Barnes & Noble and the Reader's Loft. They also work with the Green Bay Packer's to ensure the project benefits from the support of the Packer wives as the project's celebrity spokesperson.
This team of women have been life-long supporters of the Library and education and the Friends of the Brown County Library could not possibly manage to maintain this program without the Give-A-Kid-A-Book leadership team. Their efforts to support young readers would not be as successful without this program. It is known that children who become readers during their earlier years will do better throughout school. The children who receive their own books each year are sure to have a better chance to succeed in school and become better readers.
Because of Give-A-Kid-A-Book program and these wonderful team leaders, last year over 5,000 disadvantaged children living in Brown County were given new books! Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many children.

St. John's Evangelist Homeless Shelter
The St. John's Model is simple. Regardless of where you have come from, regardless of the choices you have made, and regardless of what led you to this position, you have dignity and worth. You are loved!
St. John's welcomes individuals to come right as they are. There is no expectation that someone "clean up" prior to seeking out services. They love them just as they are but then also love them too much to desire that they stay in the position they are in.
Please visit their website to learn more about St. John's and the Micah Center.
