Cheryl Murphy is our Volunteer of the Week
as well as our WPS Volunteer Awards Arts & Culture Runner-Up
!
Cheryl has provided ongoing support to Mosaic Arts, year round for the past 11 years. Mosaic Arts is a nonprofit organization that advances the arts in the greater Green Bay area. Cheryl is a volunteer member of the board, currently fulfilling the President role, and has been the foundation of Mosaic this past year as the organization underwent a transition of leadership. She believes in the impact that Mosaic makes in the community and the mission at hand and has her hands on a variety of activities from stuffing envelopes, cleaning files, selling raffle tickets, proofing materials, and attending program meetings. These activities are just a taste of what Cheryl has supported in the past year. She volunteers at all events and activities and is often rolling up her sleeves to assist staff wherever possible. Most importantly, over the past year, she has been in the office almost daily and available all hours of the day during this transition, which turned into a full-time job for the retiree.
Cheryl has been heavily involved in community organizations such as the Volunteer Center and the Civic Symphony. She sticks with what she believes in, and she believes in Mosaic and its mission of advancing the arts. Her impact throughout this past year is immeasurable. Mosaic would be in a completely different place right now, if she was not driven to push it forward. This past year, because of Cheryl's influence and drive, Mosaic went from a listening board to a heavily engaged board that supported staff and the organization's year-round activities. Her service to Mosaic Arts impacts the organization; its members, donors, and individuals throughout the community.
Thank you Cheryl, for helping Mosaic Arts grow year after year!

LaForce Seeks Local Green Bay Charity
to Support in Annual Community Campaign
|
Every fall, LaForce employees raise funds and awareness for a local charity in our annual Community Campaign. We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the 2018 Community Campaign, which will be held in September. Green Bay-area 501c3 organizations are encouraged to nominate themselves to be the 2018 Community Campaign recipient. A fillable form is available to download at
https://laforceinc.com/who-we-are/community-involvement/
. All nominations forms must be completed and emailed to
MB-Marketing@laforceinc.com
by Friday, May 25.
Filling out the nomination form does not guarantee an organization will be chosen as the recipient. A select team of employees will vet each submission, and Green Bay employees will then vote to select a single charity to support in the 2018 Community Campaign.

Join the Movement: Become an Advocate with the Sexual Assault Center!
|
Are you looking for a way to stand with survivors and make a lasting impact on our community? The Sexual Assault Center that serves Brown, Oconto, Door, & Marinette Counties, is looking for individuals to join their volunteer team! No experience is necessary. All advocates receive extensive training prior to working with victims of Sexual Violence. Our new training program prepares advocates and is more flexible for those with busy schedules. Self-paced learning modules combined with on-site training and shadowing experiences prepare advocates for this work. Advocates play an important role in victims’ healing process as they not only field incoming hotline calls through hotline, but also respond to hospitals or police stations to provide immediate support and information. Interns provide additional support and legal advocacy. Volunteers sign up for two shifts each month that work with their schedule and attend monthly meetings with other advocates, to maintain protocols and expand knowledge.
Available shifts:
Weekday Nights: 5pm-7am
Weekend Days: 7am-7pm
Weekend Nights: 7pm-7am
Next on-site training dates are May 16, 23 and 30!
Apply today to reserve your spot and start the process of becoming a volunteer victim advocate!
