volunteeroftheweekVolunteers of the Week
Volunteers from Michel's Hall Service Program at St. Norbert College have been volunteering with the YWCA for two years. Students from this program volunteer in a variety of programs including child care, after school, member services, and the women's closet. The YWCA's Child Care and After School programs service primarily low income and at-risk children. Volunteers help meet the needs of the programs by helping children to improve school performance, build self-esteem and self-respect, and establish wholesome relationships. The YWCA Women's Closet provides work-appropriate clothing for low-income women who are seeking employment, in a new job or going to school. Without these volunteers, the Women's Closet would be inoperable.

The Michel's Hall Service Program is an extremely unique program and a model for other universities and colleges to follow. The program has been a huge asset to the YWCA, an organization which would not be able to remain fully functional without the help of volunteer programs such as this one. Students only have to dedicate 30 hours of service; however, many are choosing to remain at the YWCA and continue to volunteer.

Thank you, Michel's Hall Service Program, for your volunteer service!
