Volunteer of the Week
The Ebert Family are our Volunteers of the Week!

The Ebert Family goes to Freedom House at least once a month to cook delicious meals for the families residing at the shelter. Mary, Ken, and their two children have been serving meals to Freedom House families at least once a month for the last 4 years. They make everything with love, being careful to make things they know both kids and adults will enjoy. They get to know the families and are so thoughtful in their efforts. Mary and Ken are a wonderful example of leadership and service to their kids. The Ebert family is always looking for ways to serve Freedom House above and beyond meal service and do great work to encourage residents and staff.

When families like the Eberts take the time to cook homemade meals, it brings such a warmth and comfort to the families at Freedom House. Mary is also such an encouragement to the Freedom House staff. She is always very organized and helps to keep everything dated and sorted in the kitchen. She is always so thoughtful in choosing what meals to serve. Having volunteers, like the Eberts, cook and serve meals meets a huge need for the shelter. Their families eat healthier, home-cooked meals, which is comforting for everyone. It saves the staff time, as they would otherwise have to cook. This also helps to keep their pantry stocked. The Eberts put so much thought and effort into each meal they prepare and serve at Freedom house.

Thank you, Ebert Family, for going above and beyond at Freedom House!
