Congratulations to ALL of Our 2017 Volunteer Award Recipients and Runner's Up!
VounteeroftheWeekVolunteer of the Week
Roger Van Lanen is our highlighted volunteer of the week as well as our WPS Volunteer Awards Heart of Gold Lifetime Achievement Award Runner Up!

Roger has been with Rebuilding Together of Greater Green Bay for over 20 years as a member of their board, as well as the lead on the housing committee which is made up of 5 members of the board. During this time, he has meet with over 1,000 homeowners and has been instrumental in helping them stay safely in their homes. Roger is often the first contact that a homeowner has with Rebuilding Together. The housing committee will meet throughout the year to review 40-60 applications and then schedules house visits with the qualifying homeowners.

Roger is also a house captain for the WPS home project. Roger makes a house visit to finalize the scope of work, create a budget, material list and work schedule. The projects may vary in the time and effort required, the number of volunteers and the level of repairs. Most projects take place in the month of May.

The Rebuilding Together group has been responsible for the home improvements for over 250 clients. this work has allowed many seniors, disabled individuals and veterans to stay safely and securely in their homes. The needs of each homeowner can vary from fixing a leaking roof to building a wheelchair ramp so a newly disabled person can leave their home safely.

Roger's spirit of volunteerism extends beyond his very active role with Rebuilding Together. He has also been a referee for both high school girls and boys basketball for many years.

Thank you Roger, for going above and beyond and helping to ensure that so many can safely remain in their homes!
