volunteeroftheweekVolunteers of the Week
The Bay Port High School Key Club  has been volunteering with the YMCA's Tank Elementary after school program every week since the program was started in 2014. This program provides a free meal, academic assistance and enrichment opportunities to Tank students. Having the volunteers come weekly and help with reading and homework allows the students who are behind in reading and math extra assistance that the after school staff cannot provide. The volunteers serve as role models and encourage the students to try hard, participate in the activities and do their best. The students also provide every student in the after school program with a handmade scarf to take home at Christmas.

These Bay Port students raised over $3,000 through Barnes & Noble to purchase brand new books for each student, each classroom in the school and the after school program. These students also wrote a grant to provide a joint service learning project for the fourth and fifth graders to help animals.

Thank you Bay Port High School Key Club, for your volunteer service!
