Paula Rieder
is our volunteer of the week as well as our WPS Volunteer Leadership Award Runner Up!
Paula's primary involvement is with
StreetLights Outreach
as the Children's Activities Coordinator for their Block Party events which draws hundreds of people. She spends countless hours planning and organizing each event, which are held five times each summer. Paula has done a wonderful job in creatively helping children to have good, healthy fun in a positive environment.
There are many children in Whitney Park for the StreetLights Outreach Block Parties and each one is treated with dignity and respect by Paula and her volunteers. Each child leaves the picnics with a smile and a better sense of self-esteem. StreetLights Outreach would not reach the number of children, nor do so in such a creative fashion, if it was not for Paula.
There are many other involvements that Paula is committed to, and e
ven though she lives and works in a different community, her volunteerism is most exclusively performed in Brown County. It is clear that Paula has volunteerism in her blood. She has been volunteering in various capacities her entire adult life, from church ministry to work in abuse shelters to volunteering in senior centers.
Paula has achieved so much in just five years and the future holds great promise given the work she has already done.
She has helped hundreds upon hundreds of people this last year and has made an impact on many due to her volunteering.
Thank you Paula for your dedication and hard work in finding solutions to the issues of poverty and homelessness in our community!
