Linda Van Pay is our Volunteer of the Week!
To date, Linda has sewn more than 1,500 receiving blankets for needy families in the Green Bay area through a program at Love Life, where she has been a volunteer since 2013. Love Life works with hospitals and other community organizations to provide items for low-income families who are expecting a child. Linda's volunteerism includes a yearly large-scale purchase of flannel and months of completing hundreds of blankets. These blankets are distributed at both Love Life locations in the community and is something that is looked forward to each year. While it may seem like a relatively small contribution, it is probably something that will never be forgotten by the families it helps.
Linda spends over 100 hours each year on this project, between the purchase of supplies, preparing the fabric, and the act of sewing each blanket. This is a continual process due to an ongoing need in our community to support these families. Having a warm blanket can make all of the difference in a new life, which is why Linda's efforts make such a great impact. Each child who has ever been held in one of these blankets is affected positively, if only by having a warm place to sleep.
Thank you Linda for your continued efforts in helping low-income families in our community through your work with the Love Life program.
