Volunteer of the Week
Julie Abitz is our Volunteer of the Week!

Julie has been a volunteer with Reading Coaches for Kids, a program of the Volunteer Center of Brown County, since 2014. Reading Coaches for Kids is a volunteer tutoring program designed to increase students' reading abilities and academic success. Julie volunteers one hour weekly at Webster Elementary School in Green Bay.

Julie was a tutor in Penny Jamir's 2nd grade class from 2014, until the spring of 2017. In the spring of 2017, Penny retired, and Julie now tutors in the classroom of her sister, who is also a teacher at Webster. Julie gives the children in the class the individual time and assistance they would not receive if they did not have Julie coming to school. Julie is a great example to the children by seeing and hearing about the importance of reading.

Thank you, Julie, for your commitment to the students at Webster Elementary, year after year!
