Mary Ann Daniel is not only our highlighted Volunteer of the Week, she is also our
WPS Volunteer Awards Heart of Gold Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient! A well deserved recognition!
For the past 14 years, Mary Ann has been the epitome of an indispensable volunteer. She has volunteered for hundreds of hours and driven hundreds of thousands of miles in her own vehicle as a volunteer driver for
Brown County Health & Human Services Department! Mary Ann began volunteering with her late husband in 2002 and together they forged many friendships. They helped many individuals to and from appointments, as well as assisted with getting individuals home for holiday visits from residential treatment centers across the state.
Mary Ann is also an active volunteer with
The Salvation Army Social Services Programs. She plays a key role in the family interview process for qualifying families for Tools for School, Coats for Kids, Adopt-A-Family and Christmas Meals, and has done this each year for the past 15 years. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor is like no other and plays the lead role in many volunteer opportunities because of her expertise and quality workmanship.
It doesn't stop there! Mary Ann is also actively involved with
St. Johns Homeless Shelter, Brown County Human Resources, St. Vincent de Paul, Service League, St. Patrick's Church, Howe Elementary, and Shamrock Club of Green Bay, and is proud to be Irish! Mary Ann is such a role model to both young and old and really defines the meaning of giving back.
Mary Ann truly lives her Christian faith by "walking the talk." Volunteers like Mary Ann define the great quality of life in our community and she truly has a "Heart of Gold."
Thank you Mary Ann for ALL that you do for others in our community! We are a much better community because of you!
