Rod Leadley has been helping kids with disabilities as a horseback therapy volunteer for 13 years at
Exceptional Equestrians. Rod uses his horsemanship experience to lead therapy horses during hippotherapy riding sessions. Children with disabilities like cerebral palsy or autism often need long-term therapy, and hippotherapy can make a great impact on a child's progress.
As a retired teacher and track coach, Rod has always loved working with young people. Rod's reliable volunteer service makes hippotherapy services possible for kids with disabilities in Northeast Wisconsin. Rod also takes part in recruiting new volunteers and supporters for Exceptional Equestrians. He encourages people to get involved and says there is a real sense of fulfillment and accomplishment.
By generously sharing his time, Rod makes it possible for Exception Equestrians to provide hippotherapy services year round and to maximize its capacity to meet the needs of each individual and family that seeks its services. Rod also volunteers at high school cross country meets and has recently executed a project to catalog the histories of the athletic programs at Preble High School.
Volunteers like Rob help Exceptional Equestrians impact community health, wellness, and quality of life and increase diversity awareness. Rod is truly dedicated to enriching our community!
Thank you Rod for making a difference in those you help every day!
