Volunteer of the Week
Zeta Turriff has been volunteering with the Neville Public Museum for 17 years. Zeta started the Neville Dinner Program series to give retirees an opportunity to have dinner with an education program and as a way to fundraise for the museum. Zeta runs up to nine dinners a year. For each dinner, Zeta helps plan the menu, works with the caterer, helps set up, decorates, serves dinner to 130 people, cleans up and helps to bring in speakers. Zeta is also involved in the Neville's Breakfast with Santa meal program. In both of programs, she has helped recruit volunteers including servers and people to operate check-in.

Thank you, Zeta, for all you do for the Neville Public Museum and for the community!

No experience is necessary; all advocates receive extensive training prior to working with victims of Sexual Violence. Advocates play an important role in victims' healing process as they not only field incoming calls through the hotline, but also respond to hospitals or police stations to provide immediate support and information. Interns provide additional support and legal advocacy. They sign up for two shifts each month that work with their schedule and attend monthly meetings with other advocates, to maintain protocols and expand knowledge. Our next training starts September 9th so contact them soon for more details about this opportunity!
