Volunteers of the Week

Kewaunee County Association for Home and Community Education (HCE)
has been participating in Wisconsin Bookworms for 11 years. The Kewaunee County HCE members have volunteered more than 1000 hours reading to more than 400 children and provided more than 3200 books and learning activities.
The Wisconsin Bookworms is a literacy program designed to provide free books to children who may not otherwise own books-the start of a life-long love of reading. Kewaunee County HCE volunteers go into the 4-year-old kindergarten at Algoma Elementary School each month to read a book to the children and do a complimentary activity with them. A book is given to each child to take home.
Thank you, HCE Bookworms, for your service to these children and the community!
